I would add with reference to the seventh paragraph of our letter of the 23rd of February that if it should be possible it would be very desirable that the contributions to the Sinking Fund should be commenced at once, instead of being deferred for 5 years as is provided by the Ordinance. The effect of this would be that in April 1918 it would be possible to reduce the debt of the Colony by a further £100,000.

6. I have to request that we may be informed by telegraph when we may expect to receive the first remittance so that we may be able to arrange for the payment which will fall due on the 15th of April.

I have to.
